Cummings Graduate Institute for Behavioral Health Studies (CGI) announces a new partnership with Silver Linings Counseling, LLC of Edmond, Oklahoma.

PHOENIX – May 22, 2018 – PrZen — Cummings Graduate Institute for Behavioral Health Studies, a private nonprofit post-secondary institution, offers graduate and professional education in integrated behavioral health care through a virtual online campus. As one of three universities worldwide granting the distinguished Doctor of Behavioral Health (DBH) degree, and the only university that exclusively focuses on the growing field of integrated healthcare, CGI seeks to partner with innovative, forward-thinking organizations, like Silver Linings Counseling, with a mutual interest to advance the awareness and adoption of integrated behavioral health education and practice in the US and abroad. It is with great enthusiasm that Cummings Graduate Institute for Behavioral Health Studies (CGI) announces a partnership with Silver Linings Counseling, LLC.

Silver Linings Counseling was founded by Dr. Lori Crowson, DBH and Cummings Graduate Institute for Behavioral Health Studies alumni. Dr. Lori Crowson is a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in individual, couples, and family therapy. With over 7 years experience as a therapist in the Edmond and Oklahoma City Metro Area, and as a Doctor of Behavioral Health, Dr. Crowson serves as a private practitioner at Silver Linings Counseling working with a broad spectrum of patients. Her areas of expertise include Chronic Pain, Diabetes, and other complex and co-morbid medical issues and mental health conditions, including Borderline Personality Disorder, and childhood sexual abuse. Silver Linings Counseling offers an advanced clinical model to meet the highly complex health needs of its patient population.

As a member of the first graduating Doctor of Behavioral Health class at CGI and maverick in the field of behavioral health for the state of Oklahoma, Dr. Crowson and her practice, Silver Linings Counseling, were a natural fit as a CGI partner. Having met Dr. Crowson as a DBH student, Dr. Cara English, DBH, CEO of Cummings Graduate Institute, approached Dr. Crowson with the idea of partnering to increase accessibility and affordability of the DBH degree program to the current and future employees of Silver Linings Counseling. Both organizations share a collective vision and passion for the impact and adoption of integrated behavioral healthcare nationwide, and the partnership was born.

The partnership will enable qualified employees, interns, and affiliates of Silver Linings Counseling to be trained as doctoral level experts in integrated behavioral healthcare and prepared to deliver patient-centered care, work in interdisciplinary teams, employ evidence-based practice and quality improvement approaches, and utilize informatics in primary care and other medical settings. Qualified Silver Linings affiliates who enroll in the DBH program at CGI will benefit from a exclusive tuition rate in addition to the robust suite of academic and student support services offered by CGI while completing their studies online.

Dr. Cara English, CEO, stated, “As a passionate practitioner and advocate in integrated behavioral healthcare, CGI could not be more thrilled to partner with Silver Linings Counseling to increase awareness, accessibility, and affordability of the Doctor of Behavioral Health degree program. We are thrilled that the inaugural partnership of this nature is with a CGI alumni, Dr. Lori Crowson, DBH and her successful practice, Silver Linings Counseling, LLC.”
